Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them completely. Prepare all supplies on a clean, disinfected surface. If your peptide has been refrigerated, allow it to reach room temperature for 10-15 minutes before proceeding.
Step 2
Remove the caps from both the peptide vial and bacteriostatic water vial. Clean the rubber stoppers of both vials with alcohol wipes using circular motions. Allow the alcohol to air dry completely (30-60 seconds).
Step 3
Attach the sterile needle securely to the syringe hub. Remove the needle cap, being careful not to touch the needle. Pull back the plunger to draw air equal to the volume of water you plan to use.
Step 4
Insert the needle through the rubber stopper of the bacteriostatic water vial. Push the air from your syringe into the vial to create positive pressure.
Step 5
Invert the vial and slowly draw the required volume of water (note: 1ml of water mixed with 10mg of peptide will create a 10mg/ml solution). Remove the needle from the vial when finished.
Step 6
Insert the needle into the peptide vial through the rubber stopper. Direct the stream of water down the side of the vial wall, not directly onto the powder. Inject the water slowly and gently. Remove the needle and syringe once all water has been added.
Step 7
Gently swirl the vial in circular motions rather than shaking it vigorously, which could damage the peptide structure. Continue swirling until the solution becomes completely clear with no visible particles.
Step 8
Immediately dispose of the used syringe and needle in a proper sharps disposal container.
